Matriz perdida é uma técnica da gravura em que uma mesma matriz dá origem a diferentes estampas em diferentes estágios. Cada nova impressão corresponde à perda da possibilidade de fazer uma nova estampa da etapa anterior. Um novo prédio nas paisagem é uma subtração linear na matriz de madeira. Mudanças na paisagem da gravura, como na real, são permanentes e irreversíveis.

Matriz Perdida (‘Lost matrix’) is an engraving technique in which the same matrix gives rise to different prints by one or more stages of engraving. Each new print corresponds to the loss of chance to make a new copy of the previous step. A deployed new building in the view, is a linear subtraction of the wood matrix. Changes in the fictional landscape, how the real, are permanent and irreversible.

Matriz Perdida Invertida (2010) é um desdobramento da Matriz Perdida (2008). Carregada dos movimentos da cidade e dos padrões arquitetônicos das novas metrópoles, ela faz o movimento inverso do primeiro trabalho. Enquanto em Matriz Perdida a imagem vai se configurando a partir de uma paisagem «virgem», em Matriz Perdida Invertida, é como se a natureza tomasse de volta o seu espaço. O ambiente urbano vai dando lugar ao «céu de antes».

Matriz Perdida Invertida (Inverted Lost Matrix) (2010) is an offshoot of Matriz Perdida (2008). It does the reverse movement of the first job. In Matriz Perdida Invertida is as the nature would take its space back. The urban environment gives way to ‘Sky before’.
